Similarly, at least 35% of men and women object to buying goods from an HIV-infected grain seller.<\/p>\n<p>As far as awareness is concerned, only 30% of men in the country know about the disease in detail. The situation in West Bengal is even worse. The survey said, &#8220;Only 15%of men in the state have complete knowledge about HIV. For example, about 51% of women and at least 40% of men in rural India believe that HIV is spread through mosquito bites. In the city, the figure is closer to 36% for women and 28% for men.<\/p>\n<p>According to the survey, 32% of mothers and 27% of fathers object to allowing their children to attend classes with HIV-infected children. According to the Union Ministry of Health, the survey found that parents said that if they sat in the same class, their children could also be affected by the disease. Similarly, 31% of men and 36% of women objected to the purchase of food grains from an HIV-infected person.<\/p>\n<p>The survey report said that inequality is also seen in the workplace. The survey asked seven questions about whether an HIV patient should be treated with a normal patient in the same hospital, the presence of an HIV colleague at work, or the presence of an HIV-infected student or teacher at school.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-146324 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hiv2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1031\" height=\"712\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hiv2.jpg 1031w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hiv2-300x207.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hiv2-1024x707.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hiv2-768x530.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hiv2-450x311.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/hiv2-869x600.jpg 869w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1031px) 100vw, 1031px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Among urban and rural women, 24.7% and 22.1% respectively answered positively in seven cases. On the other hand, 25.9% of males answered positively in urban areas and 23.4% of males in rural areas.
