As a result, all political parties, with the exception of the BJP, were hostile to the report.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-139346\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/AI_kashmirpress_club.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/AI_kashmirpress_club.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/AI_kashmirpress_club-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/AI_kashmirpress_club-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/AI_kashmirpress_club-768x432.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Previously, the state of Jammu and Kashmir had around 111 Assembly seats, with 46 seats in Kashmir, 37 seats in Jammu, 4 seats in Ladakh, and an extra 24 seats reserved for Kashmir held by Pakistan, according to the 2011 census. The Delimitation Commission, on the other hand, determines the new borders, names, and number of seats in Assembly constituencies for the state of Jammu and Kashmir.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, according to the Delimitation Commission&#8217;s recently issued report, the number of Assembly seats has grown by seven, with one seat in Kashmir and the remaining six in Jammu, due to the fact that the population of Jammu is bigger than that of Kashmir. The new Assembly would have 90 members, which would result in a significant shift in the composition of the present Assembly&#8217;s seat allocation.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-145984\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/NDM.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"675\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/NDM.jpg 1200w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/NDM-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/NDM-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/NDM-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/NDM-450x253.jpg 450w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/05\/NDM-1067x600.jpg 1067w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1200px) 100vw, 1200px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Jammu and Kashmir each have 43 seats, whereas Jammu and Kashmir each have 47 seats. The Commission also claims that for the first time in the state&#8217;s history, nine Assembly seats have been designated for STs (Scheduled Tribes) in the state legislature.<\/p>\n<p>Three of the nine seats are located in the Kashmir Valley, with the other six being in the Jammu area. In addition, seven places have been allocated for the SCs (Scheduled Castes).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, the Delimitation Commission made changes to the seats in Anantnag and Jammu provinces.
