Army Chief General MM Naravane has also congratulated Lt Gen BS Raju on being appointed as the Deputy Chief of Army Staff. Let us tell you that Lt Gen BS Raju will assume office on 1 May 2022.<\/p>\n<h2>Commanded DG Military Operations<\/h2>\n<p>Lt. General Raju is currently heading the DG Military Operations under the Government of India. Take. General Raju is going to take over his new responsibility as Vice Chief of Army Staff despite not being an army commander. His career spanned over 38 years, where he was part of several important regimental, staff and instructional appointments at Army Headquarters.<\/p>\n<p>Before being appointed as the Vice Chief of the Army Staff, he was holding the post of Director General Military Operations under Indian Army.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-145770\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1-4.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"665\" height=\"469\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1-4.png 665w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1-4-300x212.png 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/04\/1-4-450x317.png 450w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 665px) 100vw, 665px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>He played an important role during deployment in Kashmir<\/h2>\n<p>During his deployment in Kashmir, he played an important role in the &#8216;Maa Bula Rahi Hai&#8217; campaign. He went to the place of encountering terrorists with the Army and gave them a chance to surrender. Its basic purpose was to include terrorists in the mainstream.<\/p>\n<p>General Raju is also an excellent pilot and he also participated in UNOSOM II in Somalia. He has also attended all the important career courses in India and has also completed his NDC at the Royal College of Defense Studies in the UK.
