During the conference, the Joint Secretary of the ministry, Luv Agarwal, said that the rate of COVID positive cases in Maharashtra, West Bengal, Delhi, Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala and Gujarat is increasing expeditiously. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;It has become a matter of concern for all of us now,&#8221; Agarwal said. \u201cA high Covid surge noticed globally \u2013 in 159 countries; Eight countries in Europe reporting an increase of cases by more than 2 times in the last two weeks,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/jpg_20220105_202144_0000-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-138335\" width=\"840\" height=\"472\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/jpg_20220105_202144_0000-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/jpg_20220105_202144_0000-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/jpg_20220105_202144_0000-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/www.caravanalive.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/01\/jpg_20220105_202144_0000.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 840px) 100vw, 840px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the Centre has also issued new guidelines for discharging the patients in light of reviewing the current COVID-19 situation. Now people infected with mild symptoms can be discharged after seven days of testing COVID positive.
