Amit Shah was speaking at election rallies in the Ajmer district’s Bijainagar and Nasirabad districts.  The ruling Congress in Rajasthan, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, has gone beyond all bounds of appeasement politics in order to preserve its support base. The State had become a “land of riots,” where radical groups were given free reign and innocent people were killed,  Amit Shah stated.

At election rallies in the Ajmer district’s Bijainagar and Nasirabad, Amit Shah was speaking. Ahead of the State Assembly election, he also participated in a road show in Ajmer City. Criticising the Congress government, he claimed that it had elevated Rajasthan to the top spot in terms of inflation, crime, corruption, and atrocities against women and Dalits.

He claimed that when tailor Kanhaiya Lal was brutally killed in broad daylight in Udaipur last year, not a single word came out of the mouths of Congress leaders. “If Congress comes back to power in this election, organisations such as the banned Popular Front of India will get a free hand. Rajasthan will never be safe under Congress rule,” he said.

The Home Minister questioned Rahul Gandhi, the leader of the Congress, about his insistence on conducting a caste census in order to count the number of OBC people. According to him, the Congress was the “biggest opponent” of the OBCs’ welfare, which was proved by its opposition to the Mandal Commission’s recommendations and suppression of the Kaka Kalelkar Commission’s report for years. In contrast, the Narendra Modi government had given constitutional status to the National Commission for Backward Classes, he stated.

The ruling Congress in Rajasthan, according to Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday, has gone beyond all bounds of appeasement politics in order to preserve its support base. According to Mr. Shah, the State had become a “land of riots” where radical groups were given unrestricted access and innocent people were killed.

According to Shah, the Congress leaders from Delhi had converted Rajasthan into an ATM where they could take out cash with a swipe of their cards. He urged people to vote for the BJP, saying that each and every vote would help the State establish a double-engine government. “When you cast your vote, don’t think it will just choose an MLA. It will serve a larger purpose.”

Mr. Shah stated that the extent of corruption in the last five years of Congress rule had surpassed the total proceeds of all scams during the tenures of all governments in the State since Independence, referring to the “red diary” that was purportedly filled with information about the illegal transactions of Congress leaders. “I wish to ask what the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government did for Rajasthan in its 10 years of power at the Centre. They sent only ₹1.10 lakh crore to the State, whereas the Modi government has sent ₹8.71 lakh crore in nine years,” Mr. Shah stated, stating that the Congress, whose records were kept in the red diary, lacked the capacity to advance the State.
