In the middle of the week, this good news could make your life easy and convenient to travel. The good news is for all the residents of Delhi. You will be proud to know that Delhi metro’s pink line will start its ride from Majlis Park-South Campus from today onwards.  As per the routine timings of Delhi metro, pink line metro will start its service (as trial) from 6 Am onwards from Wednesday. This new metro line (Pink Line) will cover the stretch of 20 kms in just 34 minutes.

The new line consists of 12 stations from one end to another. You can enjoy the facility of boarding and de-boarding from the stations listed below:

  1. Majlis Park
  2. Azadpur (interchange station)
  3. Shalimar Bagh
  4. Netaji Subhash Place (interchange station)
  5. Shakur Pur
  6. Punjabi Bagh (West)
  7. ESI Hospital
  8. Rajouri Garden (interchange station)
  9. Mayapuri
  10. Naraina Vihar
  11. Delhi Cantonment
  12. Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus (connects to Airport Express Line)

Not only this, you can interchange the metro from Azadpur metro station for yellow line metro, Netaji Subhash Place metro station for red line metro, Rajouri Garden metro station for blue line and Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus metro station for Airport express line. The highlight of this new corridor is that it will also connect the north and south campuses of the Delhi University on the metro network.

As per the words of DMRC senior official, the opening of the 21.56 km-long section, the Delhi Metro’s operational network will expand to nearly 252 km. Our Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal along with Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs (Independent Charge) Hardeep Singh Puri will flag off the new pink line metro at 4:00 PM from the Metro Bhawan. After the flag off ceremony, passengers can use the metro from 6:00 PM onwards from today itself.

The senior official said, “The ticket from Vishwavidyalaya station to Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus station will cost Rs 50. And, from Majlis Park station to South Campus station, it will cost Rs 40. On Sundays and national holidays anyway, the fare is less than the regular cost.”
