In a terrible reminder of the murder of a seven-year-old child, Pradyuman Thakur in a Gurgaon school couple of months back, a six-year-old boy, Hrithik Sharma was attacked in his school toilet in Lucknow on Tuesday. The Class 1 boy of the Brightland Inter College School in Triveninagar, who was stabbed in the abdomen and chest and later locked inside the toilet by a senior girl student, is fighting for his life at the trauma centre of King George’s Medical University (KGMU).

As per reports, it is being told that when Hrithik cried after being attacked, one of the school teachers named Amit Singh Chauhan heard him and immediately hurried into the toilet. And when he entered the toilet, he found him in a pool of blood and his mouth stuffed with a cloth. After the school authorities got to know about it, they immediately got him admitted to a nearby private hospital, where doctors suggested him to KGMU.
Though this mishap occurred on Tuesday but it only came to notice after the KGMU authorities communicated about it to the media. The school officials initially kept mum about it but after they got to know that the KGMU authorities had told the media about it, they had to inform the police. They also bluffed with the victim’s parents and initially told them that he had met with an accident. After seeing this irresponsible behavior on the part of the school authorities, the district inspector of schools was left with no choice but to issue a show-cause notice to the school for not informing the police about the same on time.
As soon as the news of the attack went viral, parents of other students gathered outside the school building and protested against the school for concealing the incident.

UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath also visited the KGMU trauma center today to meet the attacked boy.

When the victim was asked to narrate the whole event to the police, he said, “A didi with boy-cut hair called me, saying a teacher had asked for me. She took me to the bathroom and slapped me. Then she attacked me with a sharp object.” Later he also told, “When I asked didi why she was beating me, she said: I want the school to declare an early closure today.”

Talking about the horrific incident, the director of the school expressed, “I am taking all precautions in view of the Ryan International school case. We are also looking at whether it is due to the deadly game ‘Blue Whale Challenge’.”
