At times it is because of the media, other times it is because of their professional demand, for which they even go on to let the entire crew and cast to shoot in their real homes.

Yes, you heard that right! Our favorite B-Town celebrities have allowed the filmmakers the access to their private properties to film a couple of scenes.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan

Salman Khan’s national award-winning film, ‘Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ was the fifth-highest-grossing Indian film worldwide. While most of the scenes of the Kabir Khan’s directed film were shot at Sonmarg Zoji LA, Thajiwas glacier and other unseen places, there were some that were later shot at Salman’s Arpita Farms in Panvel.

 

Ki & Ka

Do you all remember that one scene from the R Balki’s film, ‘Ki & Ka’ in which Arjun Kapoor was invited on lunch by Jaya Bachchan? Well, to your surprise the scene was shot at Bachchan’s real house. So, the next time you watch the film do not forget to pay keen attention to the interiors of the Bachchan’s residence that is shown for real in the movie.

 

Bombay Talkies (Murraba Story)

2013 Indian anthology film, Bombay Talkies, consists of four short films, directed by Anurag Kashyap, Dibakar Banerjee, Zoya Akhtar and Karan Johar. In one of the scenes of the ‘Murabba’ story directed by Anurag Kashyap in the film Bombay Talkies, Amitabh was seen greeting his fans in the verandah of his house.

Veer Zara

Yash Chopra directed, 2004 epic romance film, ‘Veer Zara’, featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta in lead roles, continues to win several hearts even today. Surprisingly, some of the scenes where Priety’s (Zara’s) family house was shown in the film were shot at Saif Ali Khan’s Pataudi Palace in Haryana. Do you remember the song ‘Hum To Bhai Jaise Hain’ from the film? That too was filmed in the Pataudi Palace.  Apart from Veer Zara, other films like ‘Rang De Basanti’ and Julia Roberts’ ‘Eat Pray Love’ were also shot at the Pataudi palace.

 

Fan

Maneesh Sharma’s directed, 2016 Indian psychological action thriller film, ‘Fan’ which starred Shah Rukh Khan in the lead role, revolved around the story of an obsessive fan (Gaurav Sharma) of a star (Aryan Khanna) who looked just like the star. Few scenes of the film, especially the one in which the fan is seen waiting outside the superstar’s house, was filmed outside Shah Rukh Khan’s real house, Mannat with the real crowd waiting outside his house.

 

Bombay Talkies (Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh Story)

The ‘Ajeeb Dastaan Hai Yeh’ story in the film “Bombay Velvet”, which was directed by popular filmmaker, Karan Johar, revolved around the story of a distressed couple. The film that starred Rani and Randeep Hooda in the lead roles were majorly shot in Karan Johar’s real home.

Sanjay Dutt biopic- ‘Sanju’

An upcoming Indian biopic film based on the life of the popular actor, Sanjay Dutt, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, is told to have some scenes shot at Sanjay Dutt’s real house, Imperial Heights. The film also features Dia Mirza, Manisha Koirala and Sonam Kapoor in prominent roles.
