After a gap of seven months, the Congress Working Committee (CWC) did a meeting at the residence of the party president Sonia Gandhi. The meeting after a long term conducted here is to discuss on the different ongoing issues in the country and also in the party like presidential election, opposition unity, vendetta politics by Modi Government, current beef controversy and Kashmir's deteriorating situation.

It was in November when the members of CWC showed their support for Rahul Gandhi's elevation as the party president for the first time. However, Sonia Gandhi was not present in the last meeting which was chaired by her son and party vice-president Rahul Gandhi.

The party in the last meeting, which was held on November 7 made a strong hold for Rahul Gandhi in the party as in the meeting, eminent leaders including former Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh and senior leader A. K. Antony were also present.

This meeting was more focused on the present government’s politics, especially vendetta politics against the opposition.
