A TWO-YEAR-OLD has been left with severe burns and could lose an EYE after his mum’s stalker doused him in acid and dumped him in a bin, it is claimed.
Aditya Raj has been in hospital for three weeks battling severe burns to his face, shoulders, and hands following the kidnapping.
Little Aditya, two, was kidnapped, doused in a corrosive chemical and dumped in a dustbin by his mother's tormentor in revenge for her refusal to marry him, it is claimed.
The toddler was found crying the following day and taken with 20 per cent burns to hospital where he risks losing an eye - after half of his face melt away.
His mother Soni Prasad, 25, wept: 'I haven’t seen my son yet, I can’t look at him. I can't believe he is suffering like this. I just don't know what to do. He is my only son. I'm just helpless.'
Soni first told her husband, Jamna Prasad, 33, a daily labourer, that a local man had been harassing her earlier this year.
A man called Mangal, aged 27, would constantly ask Soni to marry him and verbally attempt to persuade her to leave her husband.
But on December 13 Aditya went missing while he was playing outside the family home.
After a desperate, fruitless search involving friends and neighbours to find their missing son, Soni called police.
Jamna couldn’t afford to take him to a private hospital - but local charity, Make Love Not Scars, paid for him to be treated at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital.
Plastic surgeon Dr Anurag Pandey at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, said: 'His condition was severe when he arrived. He’d suffered nearly 20 per cent burns to his face, one shoulder and both his hands.
'While his life is out of danger, his eyesight continues to be in danger. His eye cornea is injured but we’re doing all we can to save his sight. We have kept his eyes closed and will keep them closed to give them time to heal.
Assistant Sub-Inspector Rupesh Kumar, from Khandsa Road Police Station, said: ‘The kidnapping was done to take revenge on the couple. On the basis of CCTV footage, we have discovered that the boy was kidnapped. Govind has been arrested and has admitted to the crime.
'We have imposed Section 326 A, punishment for throwing acid, 364, Kidnapping or abducting in order to murder, and 307 attempted murder of the Indian Penal Code on him. The investigation is still on and further action will be taken in due time.'
