In the Congress’ Gandhi family’s National Herald case, today the Delhi High Court allows the income tax department to search and investigate Young Indian Pvt Ltd. The family members of Gandhi family are the directors in the company.

Firstly, the case was opened for investigation by Delhi’s Patiala House Court which had been challenged in the Delhi High court. After Patiala House Court’s order, it is a major setback for Gandhis who see this case as a vendetta politics by the BJP in power maligning the image of the Nehru-Gandhi family who ruled at the center for maximum time.

The case was initiated by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy who accuses Gandhis and their associates of cheating and forgery in funds as by paying just Rs 50 lakh through which Young India Pvt Ltd held the right to get Rs 90 crore property of Associate Journals Ltd.

Besides Gandhis, Congress party’s long-time treasurer Motilal Vora, Oscar Fernandes and Sam Pitroda are the other accused in the case.
