MCD elections results: BJP wins big, Congress and AAP fight for 2nd spot

Bhartiya Janta Party party is leading all three corporations in Delhi currently and is leading in 188 seats whereas AAP and Congress are leading in 43 and 28 seeats respectively while other parties are ahead on the remaining 10 seats. While congress party accepted the results, Shiela dixit, former - Delhi CM said that party needs to hold on and have a look at what is going wrong on the other hand AAP cried EVM (Electronic Voting Machines) foul.

Early trends showed AAP creeping far behind BJP. 2 years of blaming BJP at municipal level doesn’t seems to help AAP. Kejriwal had accused MCD of corruption, mismanagement and problems like garbage or waste management in their 10 year rule but these allegations doesn’t seem to affect image of the party in anyway moreover it seems to affect the image of Kejriwal himself. Some more problems seems to be arising for Kejriwal ahead of the MCD results as previously party had already suffered a poor show in Punjab Assembly polls and a clear whitewash in Goa elections.

"We won't get more votes...This election for us was about laying the foundation. I am a person of zero expectation," says Swaraj India's Yogendra Yadav. He also added that some parties who would lose may blame EVM’s for the loss targeting Kejriwal. . Yogendra Yadav and Prashant Bhushan are the founder of Swaraj India and were former member of Aam Aadmi Party and Anna Andolan.  Kejriwal had earlier said that they will go put for a nationwide protest against EVM tempering if they lose Delhi MCD elections. The party seemed to be following a similar path as AAP's Nagender Sharma tweet read: "Sweeping Delhi MCD polls without sweeping Delhi's streets for a decade. When machines are with you human will is of no relevance,” AAP Minister Gopla Rai seemed to be in a similar flow “AAP which loses Delhi election, says "this is not Modi Wave, this is EVM Wave” he said.

There Congress office was empty as they face another defeat and were upset with the results. Ajay Maken resigned as Delhi Congress Chief. The BJP doesn’t seemed to be celebrating victory in a loud way as they dedicated there victory to Sukma attack martyrs.  Although Amit Shah made a press conference at Kolkata Press club to congratulate all the volunteers in Delhi for working hard to make it possible to make a comeback as it is always a tough competition to win in Delhi moreover there were 4 parties who were in the race this time with AAP and Swaraj India making their debut.
