After MCD election results were out taking BJP to the top in a landslide victory on Wednesday, Rashtriya Janta Dal (RJD) leader Lalu Prasad Yadav urged opposition to unite against NDA. In a statement, He said, “If the opposition doesn’t unite, similar results will keep coming.” Giving his views on allegations made by Arvind Kejriwal on EVM tampering , Yadav said, “ kuch toh jhol hai”( There is something wrong ).

The BJP had won 181 of a total of 272 wards in the three corporations while AAP could only win 48 and the Congress had to settle for 30. The vote share of AAP has halved to 26 per cent from 54 per cent in the 2015 assembly elections that the party had swept. The BJP's win today came with a 36 per cent vote share. Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: “Grateful to the people of Delhi for the faith in BJP. I laud the hardwork of team @BJP4Delhi which made the resounding MCD win possible”.
