Dads are the greatest; they are strong, funny and dependable. From giving us piggy back rides to laughing at our worst jokes, dads are pretty darn amazing. If mothers are angels, then dads are definitely superheroes without capes. In fact, the list of things each of our fathers does for us is endless and for each of these things they deserve a round of applause! So this Father’s Day, let us take a spin on some of Bollywood’s coolest fathers.
1. Shahrukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan may be good at a lot of things -being an actor, producer, entrepreneur, a devoted husband, and the king of romance. But, one of his most successful roles is that of a father. “When I am with Aryan sometimes, we just lie down in our shorts without our shirts and crack dirty jokes. He gets really excited telling me about the gaalis he’s learnt. I’m from Delhi and I’ve also been that age and my vocabulary of Hindi gaalis is fantastic (smiles). So when he tells me one, I tell him that I’ll teach him another version of it,” said Shah Rukh, calling himself a cool dad.
2. Akshay Kumar
Akshay Kumar is a busy man, and we all know it. But when it comes to family, he is always seen as a doting father of his two kids — son Aarav Kumar and daughter Nitara Kumar. The actor once shared a photo of himself enjoying a bike ride with daughter Nitara on the sets of his film Padman and wrote “This beautiful little human being is my biggest lifeline…she wanted to ride on PadMan’s bike every day and now she’s learnt to ride her own to every child across the globe. You couldn’t imagine how much you make this world a better place to live in.”
3. Hrithik Roshan
Bollywood actor Hrithik Roshan never shies away from his duties as a father. Every now and then you see Hrithik Roshan’s pictures with his sons, Hrehaan and Hridhaan. As per a report in Mid-Day, Hrithik Roshan believes in igniting the fire of learning in his kids. “Hrithik believes in mental stimulation for his children, so he has been creating comic strips and penning stories for his kids. He wants to give out important lessons that will help them grow into compassionate human beings. The stories are told in the format of comic strips and Hrithik designs the doodles himself.”, a source said.
4. Abhishek Bachchan
In an interview that took place when Aishwarya and Abhishek were expecting a child, Abhishek told a daily “think I’ll be a good dad. Because I love kids and they generally take to me.” Abhishek, always the protective dad, once responded to a troll who wondered how his daughter, Aaradhya, finds the time to go to school between public appearances. “ Ma’am, as far as I know… Most schools are shut for the weekend. She goes to school on weekdays. Maybe you should try it considering your spelling in your tweet,”
5. Kunal Kemmu
We saw him as a young Rajnikant in the movie Raja Hindustani. He has been over the moon ever since he shared with the world the happy news of the arrival of his baby girl Inaaya Naumi Kemmu on September 29. “I want to know everything that she has done, even though she’s only feeding and sleeping right now. Earlier, I would finish the day’s work, go back home, put my feet up and watch something on TV or call friends over. But now, it’s all about her. She has become the centre of attention in my life,” said Kunal about his daughter Inaaya Naumi.
6. Aamir Khan
We all know Aamir Khan as a fabulous actor and a filmmaker, but there is another side to him which is as awesome as the others. Aamir is the father to three children, Junaid and Ira from his first wife and Azad from Kiran via surrogacy. “Azad can’t really differentiate between real and reel as yet. So when he saw me getting punched (in a movie), he thought I was hurt and that upset him. Even after PK, we’ve tried watching other films of mine with him but it doesn’t go down well with him. He prefers the real papa, not the reel one, I guess,” Aamir said of his youngest son, six-year-old Azad.
7. Shahid Kapoor
Shahid is a father to two-year-old Misha and is expecting his second child sometime soon. He is all gush when it comes to daughter Misha. From changing diapers to taking his two-month-daughter for a vacation, Shahid is enjoying every little thing about fatherhood. The doting dad has revealed that his life is all about Misha now. “Misha gives me a lot of strength. Life is all about her now. I feel like I am ready to protect and even fight for her. I want to be my best for Misha. I never want to leave home once I return to my wife and baby,” he told reporters at the JioMAMI Film Festival held in Mumbai.
A father is the root upon which a family tree grows. From spearheading the family to fulfilling even the slightest of our desires and being a good friend, we are thankful to Gods for giving dads around!
