If the recent buzz is to be believed, filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar has roped in Dabangg girl Sonakshi Sinha to play the female lead in the Hindi remake of the Marathi movie ‘Aapla Manus’. Earlier, it was being reported that Kareena Kapoor Khan will be essaying the female lead, but Bebo was not impressed by the script and backed out from the film. However, a source told DNA, “The modalities didn’t work out and Kareena is already committed to Raj Mehta’s next, with Akshay Kumar. So she also didn’t have the dates. So, now, the film’s makers are looking to cast Sonakshi Sinha for that role. Their talks with the actress are in the advanced stages and in all probability, things will be worked out and she will sign up for it.”

Earlier, Filmfare quoted a source close to the makers, as saying “Kareena will not star in Ashutosh Gowariker’s remake of Aapla Manus. Kareena has not said yes for any project as of now. The only one she’s in talks about right now is Rakesh Sharma biopic opposite Shah Rukh Khan. The actress is also keen on working with her 3 Idiots co-star Aamir Khan in future.”

Kareena Kapoor Khan just made a comeback to movies with ‘Veere Di Wedding’ post her maternity break. She has said that she will be doing only one film in a year as she wants to spend more time with her 18-month-old toddler Taimur Ali Khan.  Meanwhile, sources claim that Kareena will be paired opposite Akshay Kumar in her next with Dharma. The duo will play a married couple wanting to have a baby. The film will be based on the subject of surrogacy and will have two young actors in the parallel lead. However, an official announcement on the same is yet to be made.

Sonakshi Sinha just wrapped up ‘Happy Phir Bhag Jayegi’ and now she is working on Karan Johar’s ‘Kalank’. She’ll soon start shooting for ‘Dabangg 3’  alongside Salman Khan.

On a related note, ’Aapla Manus’ is a successful Marathi film which was released earlier this year. It was directed by Satish Rajwade and produced by Ajay Devgn and it featured Nana Patekar, Iravati Harshe and Sumeet Raghavan in the lead roles.
