Sridevi’s sudden & tragic demise was a shock for the entire nation. Her elder daughter Janhvi Kapoor will be seen making her debut in Shashank Khaitan’s ‘Dhadak’. It was Sridevi who wanted her daughter to make her big screen debut with Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. In an interview with India Today, Janhvi bared her heart and revealed how difficult it has been for her to come to terms with Sridevi’s untimely death.
“It hasn’t been an easy experience. My work and my family have given me the strength to go on. If it wasn’t for coming back to the sets of Dhadak or being able to act, I think it would have been much tougher than what it is now. I am very thankful that I had the opportunity to work in the film and act. It saved me in many ways,” Janhvi said.
She added that coming from a filmy family, she always had an inclination towards movies. “I don’t know if I always knew that I wanted to act but I was always inclined towards movies. It is something that I am very passionate about. Working in Dhadak feels like a dream come true. It is too good to be true.”
“In my family, it is the only thing that we discuss. It’s the only thing we knew. Every time we sit at home and have a conversation with one another, it is always about films. Even when we go out to spend time together, we go out to watch a movie. Holidays were always about dad’s shooting schedules or mom’s shooting schedules. We have grown up in that environment,” Janhvi added.
Dhadak is a remake of the Marathi Film ‘Sairat’. It also marks the debut of Shahid Kapoor’s brother, Ishaan Khatter. The movie is slated to hit the screens on July 20, 2018.
