After the mind-blowing posters, finally, the trailer of the most anticipated film of this year ‘Dhadak’ starring Sridevi’s daughter Janhvi Kapoor and Shahid Kapoor’s half-brother Ishaan Khattar launched yesterday. This movie which is an official remake of Marathi film ‘Sairat’, is directed by Shashank Khaitan and produced by Karan Johar.
The protagonist of the movie and the daughter of late actress Sridevi and Boney Kapoor, Janhvi, along with the whole family including sister Khushi, dad Boney Kapoor, cousins Harshvardhan Kapoor and Mohit Marwah, uncles Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor, along with the wife and the kids, were present at the trailer launch. Ishaan was accompanied by her mother Neelima Azeem. Director Shashank Khaitan and Karan Johar too attended the launch, which was organised at the PVR Cinemas, Juhu, Mumbai.
Both the lead actors of the movie arrived together at the venue. Janhvi was seen in a beautiful Green Anarkali suit and Ishaan kept it cool with jeans, t-shirt and a jacket. The trailer gave a quick view of the sweet romance between the two in the beautiful places of Rajasthan.
Despite the presence of the whole family, the Kapoor sisters Janhvi and Khushi became emotional as they felt the absence of their late mother, Sridevi Kapoor. When asked about her mother Sridevi, Janhvi said that she missed the most special person in her life, her mother the most at the trailer launch. She said “I definitely miss her today. The biggest and most helpful tip she has given me is to work hard and to feel every emotion.” She also revealed that Sridevi wanted her to do a film like Sairat. She further added “ I saw Sairat with mom at home and I remember telling her ‘I wish that this was my first film and I could do something like that.’ Me and mom had this bug discussion how even she wanted a role like this and then Karan called and it happened.”
While Janhvi missed her mother, her sister Khushi couldn’t hold back and moved to tears at the elder sister’s debut movie trailer launch. She broke down and Janhvi comforted her by wiping her tears and giving her a warm hug.
Janhvi’s half-brother Arjun Kapoor couldn’t attend the trailer launch but he made sure that he was with her, and he tweeted “Tomorrow you will be part of the audience forever #JanhviKapoor cause your trailer comes out… Firstly, sorry I’m not there in Mumbai but I’m by your side, don’t worry.
I just wanted you to know this profession is amazing if you work hard, be honest, learn to take the accolades with the brickbats, respect opinions, yet follow your own path & instinct. It’s not gonna be easy but I know you are ready for all the madness that will ensue. All the best for #Dhadak! I’m certain that my friends @ShashankKhaitan and @KaranJohar have presented you and #IshaanKhattar as the modern Romeo and Juliet with elan!”
Her sister Anshula Kapoor too missed the launch but expressed her excitement for the film and posted on Instagram saying “Aaaaaaah My cutie @janhvikapoor’s trailer is out now for the world to see and I cannot be more proud, or more excited! My mind has officially been blown by both my Jaanu & @ishaan95! How phenomenal is the trailer and how fantastic are both of them?? Hit it out of the park and how! 20th July, why you so far away? Super duper excited for this one!!”
The movie is set to hit the theatres on 20th July. We look forward to it!
