Television heartthrob and our very own Saraswati Chandra, Gautam Rode finally walked the aisle with his ladylove Pankhuri Awasthy on Monday. The couple first met on the sets of Razia Sultan where Pankhuri played the lead but their love story bloomed on the sets of Suryaputra Karna where Gautam played the titular lead while Pankhuri was cast as Draupadi.
Pankhuri and Gautam kept their relationship under wraps for the longest time until they surprised us all with their engagement in October 2017. They both finally tied the knot yesterday in a destination wedding in Alwar, Rajasthan where pre-wedding festivities had been happening from a past couple of days. From a vibrant mehendi ceremony to cocktail night and engagement ceremony, Gautam and Pankhuri had a perfect big fat Indian wedding. While the duo kept their wedding a private affair, thanks to their fan-pages that we got some glimpses of their nuptials.
For the D-day, both the lovelies opted for traditional and made a gorgeous couple. While Pankhuri looked radiant in a red lehenga, Gautam complimented her well in a cream-coloured sherwani.
Gautam made a bang on entry as he danced along with his baraat.
Mehendi was a rather flamboyant affair and the much-in-love couple beamed with joy in vibrant attires.
Mehndi was followed by the Shagan ceremony and here too, Gautam and Pankhuri made a gorgeous couple! We just love Pankhuri’s subtle pastel-hued lehenga.
However, the highlight of their wedding was their sangeet ceremony where the couple recreated Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif’s look in the song ‘Dil Diyaan Gallan’ from Tiger Zinda Hai. Pankhuri swayed our hearts and looked as resplendent as Katrina in a soft pink ball gown. Dressed in classic black suit similar to that of Salman Khan, Gautam made a dapper groom-to-be. That’s not all, the gorgeous couple left us hearty eyed with their super romantic dance performance on the same song. Watch the entire performance here!
We are not getting over this romantic performance anytime soon! All the best for the new beginning, you two lovelies!
