The talented lady has been in the industry since she was 19, and has accomplished a lot more than what one can think of. She has produced some of the highest grossing soap operas like Hum Paanch, Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki, Naagin, Chandrakanta (2017 TV series) Ye Hai Mohabbatein, Kum Kum Bhagya, Kavach, and Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki.
Ekta is undoubtedly the empress of Indian television industry. But apart from finding a space in the telly-world, she has also managed to find a space in the news headlines, and that too many times. Shah Rukh Khan
Shah Rukh Khan and Ekta Kapoor are not in good talking terms since 2013. It all happened when their respective films, “Once Upon A Time in Mumbai” and “Chennai Express” were scheduled to release on the same date in 2013. As per reports, it was revealed that Shah Rukh tried to meet Ekta in order to avoid the clash, but in return, Ekta simply refused to meet him. The “Raees” actor even requested Ekta to organize a special screening of her film at his place, but Ekta simply refused to do so.
The ‘Table No. 21’ actor, Rajeev Khandelwal is a popular face in the television industry. Rajeev made his debut in the television industry with the Tv series, “Kya Haadsa Kya Haqeeqat” but only rose to fame after working with Ekta’s popular Tv serial ‘Kahiin To Hoga’. Initially, Ekta and Rajeev shared a great bond but when in an interview Rajeev stated that he didn’t need Ekta for his success, it all got worse. Ekta got too disappointed with him and openly confessed it to the media that she would never work with him in future. After this, Rajeev too claimed that he did not like Ekta’s Tv programming. Though their fight continued for a long time but the two have allegedly patched up now.
During the year 2008, Ekta had signed a film with Sanjay Dutt and Suniel Shetty, for which she had already paid Sanjay Rs. 1.5 crore as the signing amount. But later, the movie never really happened due to some reason and Ekta failed to recover the amount that she had paid to Sanjay. Rumours were abuzz that even Suniel Shetty tried to approach Sanjay’s wife for the repayment of the amount, but he received no response from her end. After Ekta had tried all the tactics and badly failed, she finally decided to drag him into the court and get him sued for the same.
After working with Ekta in the film, ‘Shootout at Wadala’, Kangana expressed her disappointment towards her.She mentioned how she was not happy about her absence at the film’s promotions and parties. She even shared that despite being the only leading lady of the film, she was completely ignored. And one thing that disappointed her most was that she was left out of the film’s posters too. Though Kangana seemed to be in no mood to patch up with Ekta ever again, but she did and was even seen attending Ekta’s Iftar party.
Smriti Irani and Ekta Kapoor’s relationship has seen many ups and downs. Smriti Irani was the lead character of Ekta Kapoor’s popular television show, ‘Kyuki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. Initially, Ekta and Smriti used to share a healthy bond but with time it all got bitter. In 2007, Ekta and Smriti had a fight post which Smriti walked out of the show. As she left, Ekta replaced her by Gautami Kapoor but it did not turn out to be a good decision for her as the TRPs of the show drastically dropped. This was when Ekta decided to convince Smriti and get her back on the show. Though Smriti re-joined in 2008 but their relationship again saw a major downfall when Ekta asked her to enact the role of a dancing girl in an episode of Ekta’s tv show ‘Ek Thi Naayika’and she got offended by it and refused for the same.
Before stepping in the Bollywood industry, The ‘Fukrey’ actor, Pulkit Samrat tried his luck in the television world. In 2006, He was seen enacting the role of ‘Lakshya’ in the popular Tv show ‘Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi’. But due to some severe injury in the year 2007, he had to leave the show. After leaving the show, he asked Ekta to clear his dues but she failed to do so. And as a result, Pulkit went ahead to file a case against Balaji Telefilms in the year 2008 for the non-payment of his dues and also for not letting him take up other projects from other production houses. Now that the actor has created his own identity by working in films, their relationship has got better.
After the release of Ragini MMS2 on March 2, 2014, rumours were abuzz that Ekta was angry with Sunny and had expressed that she would never work with Sunny in future as she had given the team a really tough time during the shoot of the film. She had also mentioned how Sunny initially used to agree on doing certain scenes and then later back out on the day of the shoot. On the other hand, when Sunny was asked to share her experience working with Ekta, she revealed that she wanted the concentration to be on the horror parts of the film but the promos focused a lot on the sexy angle, which the actress seems to be making a conscious effort to stay away from.
