Varun Dhawan files a complaint against a female stalker who threatened to commit suicide

With the advent of social media, it has become easier for our Bollywood celebrities to connect with their fans. Fans too, can now directly comment on their favorite celebrity’s photographs or any other promotional activity related to their films. But sometimes, these fans tend to go a little crazy and forget their limits. They get too obsessed with their favorite stars that they often start following or stalking them and try to invade their personal lives. One such incident recently happened with our very favorite actor, Varun Dhawan who was repeatedly receiving annoying messages from a female stalker. And things got too extreme that Varun had to file a complaint against her. This is what exactly happened:

According to the report by an esteemed daily, Varun Dhawan has filed a complaint against a woman who had been stalking him repeatedly on social media. Varun has claimed that she was continuously bombarding his Whatsapp Messenger with numerous obsessive messages. And to stop her, the best that he could do was block her number.

However, it did not stop there. Even after getting blocked by the “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” actor, the stalker still tried to annoy him. After a few days of this incident, Varun received a call from an unidentified number threatening him that the woman would commit suicide if he does not respond to her messages. Varun couldn’t take it any longer and immediately filed a complaint with the Santacruz police against her, under IPC section 506, which deals with punishment for criminal intimidation, on 2 November. It is also reported that the actor has also sent a complaint to the cyber police station at Bandra Kurla Complex.

When one of the officers from the Santacruz police was asked to confirm about the same, he readily agreed and said, “We have received a complaint from Varun Dhawan and are in the process of finding out details about the person who had called him. The number has been switched off ever since the call was made.”

On the professional front, Varun has last appeared in David Dhawan’s film, “Judwaa 2” with co-stars like Jacqueline Fernandez and Taapsee Pannu. At present, Varun is busy shooting for Shoojit Sircar’s next film in Delhi.
