Bengaluru is going to embrace helicopter-taxi (heli-taxi) service in soon months. The commutation by road in the city kills a lot of time due to traffic congestions. The rush hours time is totally frustrating for the Bengalorean office goers every day.
The service is expected to be operational in coming months and it will be operated by Thumby Aviation Private Limited. The beginning will happen between Kempagowda International Airport and Electronics City.
One helicopter will start the operation in the very beginning, and estimated time will be 15 minutes to reach one place to another. Later, the number of helicopters will be increased and more places will be connected through this service.
Addressing the media on the launch Union Civil Aviation Minister Jayant Sinha said that operators should keep their price competitive with air conditioned cabs providing travelling services on roads.
Bengalure will become the first city to have this facility in India.
